What type of student is a Círculos High School student?

As a school that is continuously striving to rethink traditional school, Círculos celebrates and values non-traditional students. Who are we looking for? We welcome all students, particularly students who want to learn through projects, students who are curious about their community and the world they live in, students who are enthusiastic about learning outside of a classroom's walls through blended learning and place-based learning, students who thrive in flexible environments and finally, students who want to be challenged to cultivate their voice, build community, make connections, and design their own path. In our small school environment, we do not offer a large-scale athletics program, band, or other more "traditional" high school experiences. However, our students often participate in intramural sports and play against other small school communities in our district. Furthermore, students are encouraged to to be involved in sports and music programs outside of the school community, and alternative schedules and learning paths are designed to fit the needs of each individual student. At Círculos, students will have the opportunity to gain experiences that most high school students may not have. From working with industry professionals and community partners to creating genuine projects that impact their local community, Círculos students leave with a myriad of unique learning experiences by the time they graduate high school. Here at Círculos, we welcome any student who wants to learn in a non-traditional way!
